June and July
The summer has come in a rush and thus I am doing 2 months blogs in one!
These last few weeks have been overshadow but the untimely death of the great Sinead O’Connor. As someone with a strong background in trad and folk, I loved Sineads’ accapella renditions of old Irish airs and I’ve shared one of my favourite. May her soul rest in peace.

I finished off last week with a wedding in Magheramoune. It’s such an unparalleled venue in terms of beauty, with its stunning views over Antrim and over to Scotland. My bride Anna-beth had chosen a Guns n Roses number for walking up the aisle, ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ and also ‘Heartbeats’ by The Knife/ Jose Gonazles.
I’ve been back so many times in Galgorm - I had my English bride, Jodie, just yesterday. I love the Phantom house for a summer wedding (less for winter, as I enjoy my heat!)
I was in Limepark this week for the first time with my American bride Christina. It’s new, so that’s exciting and has accommodation for an entire wedding party. Definitely one to see around if you’re considering a wedding in Antrim.
I played at the women circle in Culturlann this month, it was nice to get back to some instrumental trad work, I had to put in some practise!
I was Back in Millbrook, a firm favourite. It was an honour to be invited to play at Loughry Campus’ Graduation. I was there last year too. Congratulations to all the students.
I drove across to Beech Hill for Lisas wedding. The staff there are lovely, its just a shame the drive makes it nearly prohibitive for me to get there. Queens had me in for some corporate work last month, the acoustics in the front rooms are divine!
August awaits! See you all soon!
